Abstract:
Agricultural production has been the target of several researches aimed at the reuse of solid and
liquid waste, to minimize the costs of this activity and reduce possible environmental impacts.
Fertigation, for example, it is a technique that can be used to reuse this waste and pastures have
favorable characteristics for being fertigated with effluents. In light of the above, The objective
was to evaluate potassium fertigation management with manipueira and plant biomass ash in
the cultivation of Tifton 85 grass. Para tanto, o experimento foi conduzido em ambiente
protegido at the Semiarid Sustainable Development Center of the Federal University of
Campina Grande, Sumé Campus PB between November 2021 and April 2022. The
experimental design was completely randomized with a split-plot scheme, the plots were the
grass cuts and the subplots were the combinations of sources (manipueira, vegetable and
mineral biomass ash) and doses of potassium (60%, 80%, 100% and 120% of the recommended
dose). At the time of the cuts, growth variables were analyzed, production and chemical analysis
of the aerial part of Tifton 85, and at the end of the experiment, the effects of treatments on the
soil were analyzed based on physical-chemical characteristics. The results showed that
fertigation with manipueira and plant biomass ash promoted greater growth, mass production
and better nutritional quality of Tifton 85 grass, indicating the dose of 100% (100 kg ha-1 of K)
as the most viable in the use of mineral fertilizer and alternative sources of potassium in the
production of this grass. In addition to ensuring positive effects on the physical-chemical
characteristics of the soil at the end of the experiment.
