Abstract:
The physiographic and morphological characteristics of watersheds is one of the main procedures performed in the
hydrological and environmental analysis to understand its local and regional dynamics and subsidize the management of
water resources. This work aimed to analyze the physiography and morphology of the Ipojuca-PE river basin,
integrating a database related to the watershed using remote sensing and computational modeling tools in Geographic
Information System. For the processing of morphological and physiographic data, QGIS 2.18 was used. Through the
results obtained, the watershed of the river Ipojuca-PE, has an elongated shape, however, it indicated a low inclination
to the occurrence of floods, evidenced by the parameters. It presented moderate erosive processes evidenced by its low
flow frequency. The predominant relief is undulating and rich in coastal areas. The use of geotechnologies proved to be
effective, through the delimitation and analysis of the study area can be used to support the effective management of
water resources.
