Playing is one of children's main activities and should be valued in the school environment, as it is a form of learning, as well as being a playful and enjoyable way of building knowledge. This work discusses the importance of play in Early Childhood Education and that educators understand that playing is not just a recreational activity, but an educational activity. The problem is: How can the use of playful activities, such as games and games, positively impact the cognitive, emotional and social development of children in early childhood education, and how can educators effectively integrate these practices into their teaching methods? The general objective is to investigate how play helps in the physical, mental, intellectual and social development of children in Early Childhood Education, through games and activities. The specific objectives are: 1) Analyze play as an educational tool in Early Childhood Education, and how educators can effectively integrate these practices into their teaching methods; 2) Investigate the benefits of play in children's learning, exploring how games and games contribute to children's cognitive, emotional, social and motor development; 3) Evaluate play and its use through technologies in the social environment, considering the development of children's skills and competencies. The theoretical framework first describes play as an educational tool, then it was described about toys and games and how through play activities, children learn concepts, in addition to developing motor coordination, creativity and the ability to solve problems, present also play through technology and its contributions to the school environment. The research was carried out through observation in the Supervised Internship in Early Childhood Education and a semi-structured questionnaire with two teachers. Thus, given the data collected and analyzed, it was noted that recreational activities are also a way of stimulating the socialization of children, who are able to develop important skills and competencies for integral education, such as creativity, imagination, autonomy, socialization, body expression and language.
