Resumen:
The present study analyzes the Psychiatric Reform listing some challenges and possibilities for the implementation of public policies aimed at the treatment of mental health in the city of Sousa-PB. From the changes brought about by the psychiatric reform, the work also aims to understand the permanences and ruptures promoted by the antimanicomial reform of 2001, in relation to the asylum model, as well as to analyze the treatment offered, from this movement, to the so-called "mentally ill." Using Marx's critical dialectic method, the research has a qualitative character and its main source of research was the oral reports in the form of semi-structured interviews with professionals from the Psychology, Psychiatry and Social Assistance areas of the children's CAPS and CAPS III units. The theoretical framework consists largely of authors such as AMARANTE (1995) and (1996); CAPONI (2000) and (2012); FOUCAULT (2012); JUNQUEIRA (2016); MOURA (2011), among other authors that enabled and enriched this writing. The work will expand the knowledge about the reality of the mentally ill in the city of Sousa-PB, as well as the professionals and population of interest. Finally, the work shows that, despite the advances proposed by Law 10.216 / 2001, the current situation is one of degradation of rights, a setback in the movement of anti-asylum struggle begun in the 1970s. In Sousa it is understood that there is a search of the professionals in mental health and related areas for humanizing the care service in the CAPS. In addition, it was verified the lack of commitment of the current municipal management in effecting the public policies, to the detriment of the professionals and users of this service that fight daily struggles to guarantee that the social inclusion becomes effective.
