Abstract:
This work aimed to estimate and map the salinity of soils in the State of Paraíba through modeling
using geoprocessing techniques. We used the data of chemical attributes, pH and EC described in
representative profiles and the missing ones we used the pedometry technique. From the data
obtained, the RAS and the PST were estimated. Using the QGIS© software, the soil polygons were
classified and mapped. The classification of soils affected by salts in terms of salinity and sodicity
was estimated by modeling using algebraic language. In the statistical treatment, the descriptive
analysis of the data and the normality test were performed using the RStudio© software. The pH
presented in the diversity of soils predominantly in the moderately acidic class; EC in the nonsaline/
non-sodic class; the RAS in the lower class; the PST in the non-solodized class. Salinity
estimation and mapping were normal in most soils. EC showed the greatest variability and RAS the
highest standard deviation; pH showed regular distribution and RAS and PST showed non-normal
distribution. Normality tests showed no difference demonstrating a relationship between RAS and
PST.
