Resumo:
Based on data obtained through field research in neighborhoods and police stations in the city of Cajazeiras, the growing influence of alcohol on the increase in crime was observed. In addition to transforming a person's psyche, potentially transforming him into a being capable of becoming a criminal at any moment, it also makes an individual who has some psychological disorder and uses alcohol even more dangerous. Society, moreover, is also largely responsible for the increase in crime, not directly, but by subjugating the majority of citizens to the culture of drinking, which, in a certain way, makes campaigns to combat alcoholism much more difficult. Drinking, in other places, affects not only the user, but also society itself, forming an almost uninterrupted cycle of influences. In this way, the work also emphasizes two very important issues: internal or psychological issues to the individual, and external or sociological issues, which alcoholism can distort. The data obtained prove that, in fact, most people in society have some type of psychological problem, and they are not necessarily crazy. They just have health problems that, demonstrably, when associated with alcoholic beverages, can lead to certain anti-social complications. The culture of a small town like Cajazeiras does not seem to open up any other paths that do not lead to addiction, from children to adults of all types. This issue, moreover, is not new; throughout the course of human history, this process has existed, and not only has it existed, but it has materialized as a growing wave in all institutions of the community. Projects and planning, in these aspects, prove to be ineffective, given the wide range of interests that surround the beverage economy, drowning many people in a process of moral and social decay, ruining in many points the entire structure of character and morality of the social body.
