Resumen:
The study o f the effects o f changes in land use on hydrological processes has been carried out through experimental manipulatíons in terms of their coverage in basins. The objective of this work was to analyze the scale effect on erosion and sediment yield by means of eu environmental modeling for not instrumented basins in the Semi-arid zone to subsidize soil conservation strategies. Soil use and occupation characteristics, soil types. topography and morphology were obtained through the supervised classification of LANDSAT 5 satellite images, The SWAT (Soil and Water Assessment Tool) model was used for the simulation of alternative land use soil scenarios, making possible the analysis of the influence of conservation practices in small basins and the effect of scale in the sediment yield in the analyzed basins. presenting itself as an important tool for the environmental planning, since, through the spatialisation of the results of sediment yield can be identified the critical areas by sub-basin, which can aid the process o f decision making by the various social acíors that integrate the basin.
