Vieira e a construção alegórica.

Abstract

A language figure used and analyzed since the classic antiquity, the allegoij.r or metaphor fulfilled several fimctions in the discourses of (retores), poets, theologians, etc. It acquired, at Hirsi, the role of beautifying the text, and became the rhetorical proof used by the Iesuits in the heimeneutics of the biblicai texts. Using the particularities of the analogies that make this allegory, as a basis, we can distinguish three subdivisions of this kind of expression: the poets' allegory, the theologians' one, and the allegory from the renaissance. In this article, it is intended to show the process of formation of the poets" allegory, providing means to this interpretation.
