Resumo:
As a result of the continuous replacement of mechanical
instruments by electronic ones, and with the growing usage
of microprocessors as building blocks of inteligent electronic
system, i t has been decided to build a taximeter using this
technology.
Taking advantage of the microprocessors programability
this instrument had i t s functions expanded with respect to
its mechanical counterpart. Therefore the follcwing functions
have been added: new systems of rates changing and checking,
and numeric lighted display with programed decimal point.
The software and hardware projects which combined
together make up the taximeter are presented. The description
of the instrument characteristics, the basic structure about
microcomputers, the tools and tests processes adapted during
the development of the system are also presented.
