Resumo:
Discussing assessment is always a very delicate topic, most of the time this term is
directed only to the test instrument, and in fact it is not just the role that assessment
plays. Observing actions that can bring new assessment instruments in the classroom
combined with popular culture, the present work entitled “Assessment in interface with
popular culture: An experience developed through the construction of a cordel leaflet”
was designed to show methodological resources that are common to our reality and
may also have potential as assessment instruments. With this, we start with the
objective of understanding how the cordel leaflet can be used as an assessment tool
in the teaching-learning process. The research carried out is qualitative in nature and
its main methodology was the construction of a cordel leaflet carried out in a 5th year
class at Escola Luiz Mariano de Araújo, located in a community in the municipality of
Serra Branca-PB, with data collection observations and interactions of students in the
classroom. This activity resulted in the construction of strings and educational books
based on the poems created by the students. According to the analyses, we were able
to understand how instruments from popular culture can be strong allies in the
assessment process, helping students to have autonomy in the classroom, in addition
to truly knowing the true meaning of assessment.
