Abstract

This paper aims to discuss the space of mental health policy , the role of social work in relation Family - user in the center of Children and Youth psychosocial care , taking into account aspects related to their professional practice in this space ; considering that his performance takes place in a multidisciplinary team will identify some challenges in the realization of their practice in this space. The results of this were obtained through a bibliographic research on addressing the historical context of the Brazilian mental health, as was also conducted desk research in order to draw a profile of users of the institution in question , and the execution of a search field , where the data were collected through a questionnaire with semi- structured questions , applied with two social workers of the Center for Psychosocial Care Children and Youth CAPSi John Paul II in the city of Sousa -Pb , but also served as a contribution to knowledge compulsory training experience of social work carried out in this institution for two semesters.To understand the problem in question was used in the dialectical method by providing an analysis of reality through dialogue with professionals. Therefore we conclude that the relationship between Social Services Family - user is given from the entrance of the institutional services to the accompaniments and guidelines of various aspects during treatment.
