Resumo:
In brial realized in the area at the Experimental Stati
on of Gorutuba Irrigation Project, was studied the effect of
four water blades applied each 2 days, on drip irrigation system
on the characteristics of mature fruit yield of melon (Cucumis
melo L,) variety'Valeriano Amare lo'.The water blades applied were 1,6; 2,4; 3,2 and 4,0 mm/
day, constant during all the irrigation period.
The drip irvigation system constituted one set of polye_thylene pipes, lmm of diameter PVC flexible micro tubo íspaghetti nÇ 1); filters and pumping equipment. One dripping by cave
was used.
The experiment was conducted in alluvium eutrofic groun
ds. The crop was planted with the followina spacings between
plants and between rows: l,è x 1,6 meters. The caves were fertilized with 10 kg tanned corral manure, 760 g simple superphosphate and 160 g potassium chloride. The covering fertilization was
carried out with 80 g ammonium sulfate by cave, applied dose by
the plants, altogether at the point nf íriping and was divided
into 4 aplications.
It was observed that the quantities of water applied displayed a quadratic effect over the yield and number of fruits ,
that the increase of water blade causes an increment in the yi
eld and number of fruits by cave, without reading the maximum values of the experimented quantities.
The fruit weight was more affected by the available wa
ter quantity than the fruit number by cave, principally in the
drier treatment.
Better wieght and number fruits yields were obtained in
thefourth harvest and bigger fruits were produced in the third
harvest.
