Resumo:
A preliminary investigation of bean grains dynamic stre ngth, has been done, by using a special constructed pendulum.
Samples of wet grains with 22,5% of moisture content and dry grains with 10,6% of moisture content were tested.
The results indicated that the dry grains have less re sistance and energy absortion than wet grains.
The results also indicated that, it seems to exist a tendency of, increasing cutting velocity, also increases the im pact resistance, and energy absortion capacity.
This tendancy seems to be more significant for wet gra ins, than for dry grains.
However, further investigations are needed to get fur ther concluions.
