Abstract:
The main o b je c tiv e s o f th is paper were to study the beha
v io r o f a soybean crop ( Glycine max (LJ M e rril) on two s o il ty_
pes (Dark Red Lato sol - Sandy Phase and Terra Roxa Estruturada),
and four tilla g e treatments under f ie l d conditions.
The tilla g e treatments were obtained by: one plowing and
two tandem disking, two tanden disking, ordinary rotary and di
rec t planting with rotocaster equiped with seeding and f é r t i l !
zer unit.
We observed that dry weight o f roots was higher and root
d istrib u tio n was deeper fo r sandy s o il than fo r the clay one.
The treatments that obtained highest dry weight were in
decrescent order: ordinary rotary, one plowing and two tandem
disking, two tandem disking and d ire ct planting fo r the sandy so
i l and fo r the clay one were: one plowing and two tandem disking
ordinary rotary, d ire ct planting and two tandem disking.
