Abstract:
The theme "Medicinal plants of the Caatinga" is very broad and due to the vast variety of
medicinal flora, it is necessary for a better understanding to use different languages, where a
good alternative is the reading of various texts for learning concepts through scientific
information. In this way, this article aims to analyze an action carried out in the school context
that encouraged rescuing and preserving the use of medicinal plants in science classes within
the scope of environmental education. In this sense, we carried out an action in the school
context that sought to promote the "dialogue-interconnection" between "Medicinal Plants of the
Caatinga - Contextualized Environmental Education for coexistence with the Semi-arid",
seeking to sensitize students from a public school in Cariri, Paraíba, so that they become
multipliers of the real need for the conservation of Caatinga's biodiversity. At the end of the
research, it was possible to perceive a certain advancement regarding the students' critical view
on environmental issues in the use of medicinal plants in Science classes.
