Abstract

The research was carried out using several kinds of usuais conductor connections in overhead line construction for country areas in São Paulo - Brazil. This paper only examines aluminium conductors steel-reinforced, for power transmission. It was an attempt to study the behavior of the functions P = f (x) or P = f (Y), where P is the initial strain load in the connections, P the rupture stress, and x and Y set characteristics. Another kind of research was designed to establish the behavior the connections in temperature measurement. The comparison between the two functions led to conclusions: to connections with preformation the functions are hiperboles and to torsion connections are parábolas. The temperature measurement determined by the test led to the numbers in accordance with the standards.
