Resumo:
With the objective of this study, it was aimed at to establish the indexes of thermal comfort and to evaluate the adaptability through the physiologic and productive answers of calves “Sindi” and “Guzerá” in “Agreste Paraibano”. To establish the comfort indexes, it was collected the environmental (Dry bulb temperature, black globe temperature, humidity temperature index, black globe temperature and humidity index, relative humidity and wind speed) indexes every day. For the physiologic answers, it was measured rectal temperature (Tr), breathing frequency (Fr) and skin temperature (Tp). They were quantified the consumption of the nutrients. This study was accomplished in the experimental station of “Alagoinha”, EMEPA-PB, of july to september of 2007. The measures for correlation analysis among all the variables and regression were obtained of sixteen calves: eight of each race, distributed in blocks factorial arrangement and only alimentary strategy to the base of grass elephant and concentrated. For the behavior of the animals the observations were accomplished in four periods of 24 hours with interval of one week. The values of Tr, Fr and Tp stayed inside of the normality for the studied races. The amount of gases produced in the facilities wasn´t significant. The times of feeding, rumination and in leisure they weren´t influenced by the genotype. The races have different potential for the weight earnings and they possess similar alimentary behavior. ITU 75,5 and ITGU 76,3, in spite of being considered stressful for several sources of the literature, the stress condition wasn´t associated by the animals.
