In data processing environments, such as data centers or dedicated server rooms, constant cooling is required because of equipment that is sensitive to high temperatures. However, devices such as air conditioners increase electricity costs due to the high energy demand for their operation. The application of monitoring and automation strategies can provide significant gains in energy efficiency. In the context of UFCG, an intelligent infrastructure capable of generating useful data for studies in this direction has been provided by the Smart Campus project. However, the actions taken to date are more directed at visualizing consumption data than at identifying opportunities to reduce electricity costs, as well as possible automation in management, especially in server rooms. In this work, a study will be carried out using data from this infrastructure, with the objective of evaluating the relevance of acting on the temperature of the air conditioner responsible for cooling the Communication Technologies Laboratory (LATEC) in order to provide energy savings. The results will guide studies and actions on similar environments, in addition to serving as a basis for future automation.
