This work aims to describe the process of construction, content validation, and semantic validation of a manual for the application of the Metric-Driven Verification (MDV) methodology for hardware verification. This is a descriptive and methodological research, carried out between 2021 and 2022, following the steps: bibliographic survey; construction of the manual in parallel; content validation by judges and adequacy; semantic validation by verification engineers primarily interested in the final product through forms with 18 items composed of levels of variation on the Likert scale: strongly disagree, disagree, neither agree nor disagree, agree, and strongly agree. Two judges participated in the content validation and 19 experts in the semantic validation, all of whom are verification engineers from Idea Electronic Systems. The manual was considered valid by the judges and, among the experts, there was an average total agreement of 67% in the semantic evaluation. A possible obstacle in using the manual is the need to adopt the structure of the verification plan offered in it. It is expected that despite possible obstacles in its application, it will be used by hardware verification professionals as an auxiliary tool to understand and adopt metric-driven methodologies, as well as enabling them to enjoy the benefits they offer.
