Resumo:
Pediatric sepsis is a syndrome Where a systemic response occurs from a previous infection,
making it a serious condition. We can screen patients diagnosed with infection, observing a
possible progression to a septic condition, through the application of scores, which guide us
regarding the prognosis and clinical Picture. The objective of this work is to evaluate the
application of a score for sepsis screening in children aged 2 to 5 years who wew admitted to
the Hospital Universitário Júlio Bandeira de Mellowith a diagnosis of infection. This is na
analytical and descriptive documentar research. Through medical record analysis, we correlated
the applicability of sepsis screeaning scores with patient outcomes. It was evidente that carrying
out a systematic screening for sepsis in pediatric patients diagnosed with infection can predict
negative results and, therefore, guarantee faster and mmore effective action to resolve the
child’s condition.
