Resumo:
This dissertation’s purpose is to study the analysis of representations that voters construct about voting: their motivations and meanings in the light of the relations of sociability. The research scenario is the city of Campina Grande - PB and it has the voters as actors making up the plots of the electoral contest, selected based on certain criteria, which are: social class, age, sex, profession, education, political ideology and social capital. We take the 2010 election campaign as a case to analyze, specifically the presidential race and the state government. However, it should be noted that the city policy does not end at this time; therefore, the exercise of theoretical and practical research also exceeds the electoral dispute. We intend this research to analyze the representations that build on the voters voting in an environment permeated by new ways of political engagement. We look at the fact that this research is not intended to provide an analysis of what is considered right or wrong in political practice, the choice of voting either, but we believe the proposal is a contribution to the study of the motivations of the vote and the electoral behavior under a socio-anthropological perspective.
