Abstract:
Violence is a social problem of a world order, which pervades the history of humanity,
being common to all societies, independent of cultures and customs. It is an interdisciplinary problem,
which in the current context is widely discussed in the media, political and social spheres. This work
aimed to analyze the data of the 14th Civil Police Sectional Police Station, regarding violence against
women in the Microregion of Cariri Ocidental Paraibano, based on the elaboration of thematic
graphics. In the methodology of work, the database was made available by the 14th Civil Police
Station, and tabulated in an MS Excel spreadsheet, where they were detailed by means of thematic
graphs and comparing the highest and lowest indexes of typification of crimes with respect to age for
female offenders and male offenders. The results showed that, for male offenders as well as for female
victims, the predominant age range was 35 to 64 years; there was a decrease in aggressions against
women for the 35-64 age group and a reduction for female victims aged 12 to 17 years from 2016 to
2017.
