Abstract:
Historically land use for agriculture is the most primary form through which man
changes the natural space for food production, but with the modernization of this
sector, there has been an accelerated aggression to the natural environment due
to the modes of production used by the Green revolution, promoting imbalances,
degradation, exclusion, extinction and the compromise of the quality of life of all.
The view of the peasants is absolutely relevant to the re-reading of the agricultural
and agrarian sector, in this perspective the research aimed to verify the
perception of the family farmers of the site Bean in Serra Branca (PB) on the
process of agricultural production, care with the land And the valorization of
farmers as social actors. We used assumptions of qualitative descriptive
research, with the application of semi-structured questionnaires. It has been
identified that the way farmers practice farming at the Feijão site is still far from
agroecologically based. The results of the research show that farmers surveyed
understand the soil as a heritage that must be cared for, but do not adopt
conservation practices of soil care, lack technical assistance and rural extension
and programmes and projects aimed at soil conservation education to establish
new food production systems, because an effective way to alleviate the problems
cited by farmers is to disseminate agroecological and conservationist practices,
which generate employment and income, environmental conservation and quality
of life.
