Resumo:
The rural settlements designed by the National Institute for Colonization of Agrarian Reform (INCRA) have a deficit in access to basic services, such as health care, commerce, schools, among others. The Curralinho dos Angicos Settlement, in the municipality of Floresta (PE), reflects these problems, and, after 7 years of its creation, residents are seeking to qualify the community in order to guarantee its permanence. Therefore, this work has as its object of study a Catholic church in the middle of a rural area, as a result of the demand presented to the author by the community. Its objective is to develop a preliminary architectural study of a Catholic temple in the Curralinho dos Angicos community, with an emphasis on self-construction as a constructive approach. More specifically, its purpose is to: (1) design an architectural design based on the built environment of the settlement, with the aim of generating identity with the community (form); (2) define a construction technique that is easy to execute and low cost, so that the construction of the chapel (technique) is viable; (3) propose a needs program suited to the demands of liturgical celebrations held by the community (function). To achieve this, the development of the architectural project is based on a bibliographical review of the literature of various authors who deal with the topic and the determinations of the Second Vatican Council, in addition to a study of the community's built environment and related projects.
