Résumé:
Both through science and common sense, it is widely recognized that human activities,
regardless of their scale, have some impact on the environment. An example of this is the
slaughter of cattle carried out at the Municipal Public Slaughterhouse of São José de Piranhas, which results in the disposal of solid waste of animal origin and has brought about some environmental impacts. In light of this, the present work reports qualitatively with the aid of bibliographic research, field visits, and conversations with the surrounding population what these impacts are. The monograph aims primarily to describe the impacts generated by activities in the slaughterhouse and secondarily to understand how the population perceives this situation and describe suggestions for the disposal of animal solid waste that can mitigate the negative impacts generated on-site.
