Résumé:
The accelerated urbanization process that has been intensifying since the end of the 20th century has brought several problems to the production of urban space. One of them, quite common in Brazil, is the creation of Paper Metropolises, metropolitan clusters that are not truly configured as metropolises. Based on this situation, we argue in this work about the reasons why the Metropolitan Region of Campina Grande fits not into the conventional mold of a metropolis, but rather into this classification and, combining with the Smart Cities initiative for the production-reproduction of urban space in a sustainable way, this project proposes the creation of a socioeconomic information portal for the Metropolitan Region of Campina Grande, thus changing support for the implementation of this metropolitan region.
