Resumen:
Amid growing changes in the Brazilian agrarian space, and the expansion of the capitalist
production system, where several factors cause major impacts on the way of life of
families, especially in the countryside, resisting the changes resulting from the advance
of capitalism. In this context, it is possible to mention the difficulties encountered in small
communities, where a large part of families survived only with the practice of family
agriculture and due to significant changes, some are forced to leave their homes in search
of better living conditions, thus affecting the organization and structure of agrarian space.
With the aim of highlighting the importance of life in the countryside, this study
highlights the historical context of the Community of Dois Riachos, located in the
municipality of São Francisco – PB. In addition, the main objective is to explore the
residents’ sense of belonging to the community. For a better understanding, it was
discussed how the Brazilian agrarian space was formed. In addition to emphasizing
family agriculture, which plays an essential role in Brazil's economy and culture, being
the basis of subsistence for millions of families in rural regions. Addressing its economic
value, this type of agricultural production is deeply linked to the cultural identity and
sense of belonging of rural communities. Furthermore, the crucial role of the peasantry
as an agent of social and economic change in rural regions stands out, promoting
sustainable development and the preservation of local traditions. Finally, the affective
aspects in the community were worked on, based on the creation of an image chart of
these points within the Community.
