A identificação dos impactos ambientais na Bacia Hidrográfica do Riacho da Caiçara, no Sítio Logradorzinho, Aurora - CE.

Abstract

Water resources play a fundamental role in human life, influencing various aspects, ranging from economic activities to personal leisure. However, human actions along and around water bodies have caused significant damage. Faced with this problem, there is a need to investigate the environmental impacts in these locations. The main objective of this study is to identify environmental impacts in the Riacho da Caiçara watershed, located in the municipality of Aurora, Ceará. To achieve this purpose, a methodology was adopted that consisted of a descriptive approach, consisting of the following steps: bibliographic survey, cartographic analysis, research in digital sources, fieldwork carried out in the periods of December 2022 and January 2024, followed by preparation of the work. During the development of the research, it was possible to identify economic activities along the course of the river and the resulting environmental impacts, such as deforestation of riparian forests, soil erosion, inadequate disposal of solid waste, loss of biodiversity, as well as contamination by products chemicals from cleaning products, agricultural pesticides, among others. Based on these findings, measures were proposed to mitigate the identified impacts. In short, land use and occupation practices on the banks of the river constitute factors that accelerate environmental impacts in the region, causing damage to both the environment and the local community.
