Resumo:
The present study attempts understand the social relations involved in creating and conduction of a laundry room by a group of women before involved almost exclusively
in domestic service. As a analysis strategy, we choose to trace, from the life story of the
articulator of the criation of the laundry, D. Miúda, a sociologic portrait, in terms of Bernard Lahire. The seizure of significances, both in respect to social positions of those involved in translating and broader universe of creating a local laundry is our object of sociological research. The problematic of the research guiding is summed in this quetion: which provisions instituting the place and social action of these women, who reproduce and reassert themselves, but also to redefine and transform themselves in the process of formation of Lavanderia Mãe&Filhas? The methodologic tool identified as "sociologic portrait", builded by Bernard Lahire, was used to answer the previous question. In theory, we count on contribution, among others, of Pierre Bourdieu and James Scott.
