The Brazilian Federal Constitution clearly states that force is given to all persons the right to education, equal conditions for access and retention in school and gender equality, but
nevertheless we know that alone does not guarantee the subject to insertion and retention
school. We intend with this case study analyzing the socio-anthropological the repercussion of the inclusion of women in Education Classes for Youth and Adults, EJA, Paraíba in the municipality of Barra de Santana, in 2002-2005. Our aim in researching the history of the EJA is discharged students reflect on the repercussion of this public politics for active citizenship of women in relation to improvements in educational attainment, relaying the access to the labor market and improving the living conditions . Better understand the trajectory of resumption of enrollment of women through Education Classes for Youth and Adults in Barra de Santana, noting their strategies for access, retention and completion of primary and secondary education. As a general objective sought to assess the repercussion of advancing educational level of these women having as indicators improving living conditions in the context of job opportunities, everyday household, for your self-esteem and the schooling of their children, as well as in diagnosing universe of women surveyed how the increase in education reflected in access to paid work, and improving the level of remuneration for women now hold jobs. And, understand how the grads EJA evaluate the process of resumption of schooling, taking into account their personal motivations for resumption of studies, the difficulties faced and their strategies for retention and completion of studies, as well as contribute to the development of access strategies and permanence of women in the Education of Youth and Adults in Barra de Santana. Although, in recent decades, women have gained significant space in social relations, labor market and enforcement of his rights, we saw that a project like the EJA, perhaps one of the means that can be traversed favoring the process of emancipation and construction of autonomy of these women, because we understand that there are still many ways to go to be truly respected and recognized in our society.
