Bidding is a formal and competitive administrative procedure, required by law, that the public administration uses to contract works, services and acquire goods. The main objective is to ensure the selection of the proposal that offers the best cost-benefit for the public entity, promoting transparency and equality between competitors. Given the importance of bidding for efficient public management, this study aims to analyze the modalities most used by the Municipality of Serra Branca-PB between 2021 and 2023, contributing to the evaluation of transparency and economy of bidding processes. The methodology of the work is configured as documentary and quantitative data analysis. The literature review allowed to deepen knowledge about the legal framework of tenders in Brazil, as well as characterizing the main modalities of bidding. The quantitative analysis was based on secondary data obtained from the Court of Auditors of the State of Paraíba (TCE-PB). The data analysis shows that the electronic bidding, provided for in Law 10.520/2002, was the predominant mode of bidding in the bidding processes of the Serra Branca-PB City Hall in the period studied.
