Recently is being rescued the natural childbirth as a normal physiological process of the woman from an action called Humanizing Assistence to Childbirth. This action has contributed for a change in the form of being born, returning the correct position from the woman to give birth, vertical position, as well as was in the beginning of the humanity. Currently, the obstetrics chairs are strong allied for these women, and visualizing the importance of these, were developed a specific chair for the childbirth squatting, properly said, powering the position, and solving some inconveniences found in the traditional models. Parallel, to the Humanizing work, it has a challenge that it intervenes directly
with this action: the use of highly sophisticated processes and invasive, used routinely in practical the hospital one, a problem of public health became the hospital infections. In this context, it has been recognized the urgency in reducing the index of hospital infection through equipment that contributes for the success of this control. Soon this work has as objective to develop a chair for childbirth squatting, using Ultrahigh Molecular Weight Polyethylene – UHMWPE therefore the same has characteristics and properties that if they show adequate to the use. We performed the simulation of the conditions of use UHMWPE, and then we evaluate the morphological and chemical properties from the conditions of sterilization in autoclave. And with that information, the conditions were established to development chair for the childbirth squatting using Ultrahigh
