“A quadra também é delas”: a participação das mulheres no futsal de Sumé-PB.

Abstract

The general objective of this research is to investigate female participation in women's futsal in Sumé-PB. In addition, the specific objectives are to identify the main challenges faced by athletes and the initiatives that have been implemented to promote growth and inclusion; analyze the role of public policies and community actions in improving the conditions for women in sport, highlighting the importance of more robust support to realize the full potential of female athletes. This was done by experiencing the athletes' day-to-day training sessions, listening to their stories and histories with futsal. This research mainly sought to listen to the women who play futsal in Sumé, PB, because I believe that there is no one better than them to talk about improvements, struggles, achievements, changes, sexism, prejudice and, of course, the importance of remaining resilient even in the face of the obstacles imposed by society.
