Résumé:
In order to evaluate the effects of the type and period of storage upon the
contents of oil and moisture, urucum seeds (Bixa orellana, L.) were storaged in silos of
zinc and sacks of nylon during 08 months. The oil contents were determined by the
Soxilhe methodology and the moisture by the stove method at 105 3C/24h. The oil
contents decreased with the storage period for the two kinds of storage, and the moisture
content oscillated along the seasons for the two kinds of storage. The seeds stored in the
silos maintained the best levels of oil and moisture.
