Resumen:
This work reports studies on the effect of two irrigation methods, and bean
moisture content at harvest, on the infestation of A. obtectus both in the field and during
the storage of edible beans (Phaseolus vulgaris L.), variety Enxofrinho. Results
indicated that beans under furrow irrigation, and harvested at 30% w.b. moisture were
less susceptible to the attack of A. obtectus in the field. It has been also noticed that the
extent of qualitative and quantitative losses during storage reflected beans conditions
immediately after harvest.
