Resumo:
A program was developed to simulate the drying of nine agricultural products (rice, cocoa beans, coffee, beans, carioca beans, corn, white corn, soybeans and wheat). The program was written containing alternatives to determine the psychometric properties of fresh air on the temperature of dry bulb (Td.b.) and the temperature of wet bulb (Tw.b.), or temperature of dry bulb (Td.b.) and relative humidity (RH) of the air and for the conditions of the heating of this air, at a 1 to 150 ºC interval. The software program allows the simulation of drying in stationary layer dryers for the above mentioned products, using the Thompson method, and also permits the possibility for simulation by the Hukill method just for corn. The program is further able to simulate the drying of corn in cross flow and concurrent flow dryers. In this paper, the simulations for the drying of rice, cocoa beans, coffee, beans, carioca beans, corn, white corn, soybeans and wheat are tested, leading to the conclusion that the equations are adequately adjusted to the values obtained experimentally by various authors for these 9 products at a 40 a 80 ºC interval.
