A Relação K entre as pressões horizontais e verticais em silos.

Abstract

The aim of this work is the theoretical and experimental study of the ratio between the horizontal and vertical pressures in silos, that is the K value. To this purpose a review of K value proposed by the principal internacional codes in silos are made and compared with experimental values determined in a silo model. The results variability show the importance and necessity to design silos by the method of limit states.
