Abstract

Based up on the Equivalent Temperature Index (ETI) developed by Baêta et al. (1987), a software called “PRÓ LEITE” was designed for totally confined lactating Holstein’s cows and was tested in this research for semi-confined ones. Deviations from the obtained real production graph and the simulated one were verified. The present research develops a mathematical equation for adjusting the Equivalent Temperature Index (ETI) in order to reflect the milk production in semi-confined herd situation.
