Resumo:
Blended Portland cement CP-II-E and a non-plastic sand-clayey soil on
traces 1:10; 1:11; 1:12 were utilized to obtain soil-cement bricks. The compaction
employing the same manual press utilized for the soil-cement bricks showed to be
adequate as a method for optimum moisture content determination. The optimum
moisture content values were determined for all mentioned traces. It was observed that
the optimum moisture content showed to be greater than the moisture content needed to
obtain maximum compressive strength and minimum water absorption values, but the
quality of all soil-cement bricks was not affected.
