Resumen:
The main aim this work is to demonstrate the technical viability of using
Pinus elliottii and taeda timber in construction of modulate vertical silos with square
basis through of mortise constructive sistem. These structures are destined at the
warehousing of the agricultural products, mostly, in rural zone. However, to the generus
mentioned, it’s very important to obtain wooden structural pieces previously classified
and preserved against biological attack. To the development of this work, some
parameters were adopted, for exemple, capacity of silo storage, method for filling and
discharge of the agricultural products. At last, the utilization of Pinus lumber in silos
construction, demonstrated its technical viability, will constitute in expressive alternative,
taking in account the facility of the constructive process and the inexigengy of
sophisticated equipment. Other advantages are considerated, i.e., the implantation and the
exploration of these planted forest, will conduct to a accessible final cost.
