Ensaios de painéis de tijolos de terra crua.

Abstract

This paper presents the results of an investigation carried out with nine compacted soil brick walls as wells as with adobes of natural soil. The testing results were obtained with laboratory instrumented walls. The mortar utilized was prepared with the same material used for the bricks but using an additional amount of water. Loads were applied to the walls in a cyclic way. The results obtained were quite encouraging and strongly suggested that this technology of compacted soil brick and natural soil walls is quite suitable for poor people to built their own housing with proper guidance.
