religious phenomenon from as many perspectives as possible. The methodology used is
that of a bibliographic review. Through works by specialists in different areas of
knowledge, starting primarily from a biological perspective from the Darwinist
perspective developed by Richard Dawkins in his work God Delusion (2006). Secondly,
the investigation is developed from a historical and anthropological perspective, focusing
on the work Sapiens - A brief history of humanity (2015) by Yuval Harari. Thirdly, the
research is guided through Sigmund Freud's psychoanalytic approach, focusing on his
work The Future of an Illusion (1927). Through Feuerbachian criticism, focusing on the
works The Essence of Christianity (1841) and Lectures on the Essence of Religions
(1851), the theoretical foundation of this work was developed. In addition to a
presentation of Feuerbach's philosophy and how his works influenced other
contemporary philosophers. The result achieved is a criticism directed at the modus
operandi of religions and the danger of the influence exerted by religious
fundamentalism on political representatives around the world, in addition to a criticism of
the role of philosophy and science in this debate.
