Resumen:
This experiment was carried out from February 2nd to February 28th,
1996. The objective was to evaluate the effect of the evaporative cooling systems on the
improvement of chicken house thermal condition. The building was divided in four equal
sectors. The treatments consisted of a ventilator and spraying system, high rotation
ventilator and spraying system, spraying system, and ventilator connected to the sprayer.
The globe temperature and humidity index, radiant heat load, relative air humidity were
calculated. The results showed that the evaporative cooling system with a high rotation
ventilator and spraying system presented the best thermal conditions for the chickens.
