Resumo:
This study was bibliometric research which generated promising data in this line of research,
worldwide. A virtual scan of data was carried out, scientific academic productions regarding
board games in education, referring to the chronology from 2013 to May 2023. Quantitative
data were collected and analyzed by Publish or Perish software, being represented by
correlation webs in the format RIS and CSV using the VOSViewer software, being
represented in the form of tables, graphs and charts. A total of 989 articles were consolidated,
which were carefully analyzed in order to obtain a final sample of 96 articles that fit the
inclusion criteria of the research. With the compilation of the results, it was verified that there
was an increase in publications on board games as a pedagogical resource worldwide,
however, the bibliometric correlation webs were fragmented and separated from each other,
confirming that there is a gap in the academic/scientific environment even in the 21st century
on the subject. It is noticeable the need for more consistent and specific works and
publications involving bordgames in education, especially in Brazil. In summary, this
bibliometric article sought to corroborate and encourage the production, publication and use
of board games as a pedagogical resource in creative learning, since it enables not only
quantitative learning, but, especially, qualitative learning within the teaching and learning
process in all levels of education, which becomes a promising field for future research, with
the use of board games playing a crucial role as a didactic resource that promotes learning and
development in various aspects of the educational context.
