Os múltiplos usos da água do Açude do Lima Campos, Icó - CE e impactos ambientais na microbacia de drenagem

Abstract

The present work aims to verify anthropogenic actions in the drainage microbasin of the Lima Campos dam and the relationship with the multiple uses of water, including an observation of the physical-natural and socio-spatial aspects, identifying the types of water uses and the relationship with the transformations of space, therefore, verifying the main environmental impacts. The following methodologies were used: bibliographical survey, including works that deal with multiple uses of water, environmental impacts and the issue of water in the semi-arid region; an analytical descriptive research; and a field survey with on-site visits to verify problems related to the production model, use and occupation of land. Upon completion of the work, impacts were noted, such as deforestation and burning, soil compaction and water contamination due to livestock farming, as well as waste produced by residents and users of the area for various purposes. It is concluded that it is necessary to adopt measures on the part of everyone who uses this area. However, it requires incentives from public authorities, and the commitment of educational campaigns that raise awareness in society about the care necessary to preserve the environment. Such sensitivity will allow the continuity of economic activities, as well as better health conditions and maintenance of natural resources.
