Abstract:
The assessment of learning is important to observe the knowledge constructed by
students and identify difficulties. This research has the general objective of analyzing
the assessments used by teachers in the initial years of elementary school to assess
the learning of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder - ASD in schools in the city of
Cajazeiras-PB. Currently, Autism has been gaining visibility, from this, the curiosity
arose to understand how the learning of these children is monitored in schools by
teachers. This research seeks to answer the following problem: How do teachers
carry out the assessment of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder - ASD? The
field research methodology was chosen, with a qualitative approach and exploratory
character. For data collection, we used semi-structured interviews with a script of
twelve questions. The interview responses were recorded, transcribed and then
analyzed. The main theoretical references that supported this research were Cunha
(2012), Silva (2022), Mantoan (2003), Vygotsky (1998). Based on the results
obtained with the responses of the five interviewees, the following points were
observed: the need for training on ASD for teachers; the improvement of the
organization of assessment activities for students with ASD; and the lack of teaching
resources. It is worth noting that despite the lack of adequate training, the
interviewees seek to read about the subject and qualify themselves, seeking to make
adaptations to serve these students, considering the limitations of each one and
seeking to develop interaction dynamics, thus promoting social interaction.
