Resumo:
Considering the need to reflect on some issues related to the educational process of
children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), this study presents contributions that
the relationship between the family and the school of a student with ASD can provide
to their teaching and learning process. Therefore, the general objective is to
understand the relationship between the family and the school of the child with
autism. The justification for this investigation is the need for research in this area,
specifically on how the family and the school can collaborate for the development of
the child with autism, taking into account the difficulties faced by the family and the
school in the educational context of the child with autism. This research aims to
answer the following problematic question: How can the participation of the family in
the educational process of a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder contribute to their
learning process? We consider the hypothesis that focusing on this issue will provide
an understanding of the obstacles and challenges faced daily in the school context
regarding the presented issue. To address this, some authors were referenced, such
as Oliveira (2010), Silva (2012), Belisário and Cunha (2010), Serra (2010), among
others. Thus, we used basic research as the methodological approach, being
qualitative, with an exploratory and descriptive character, utilizing semi-structured
interviews as the data collection instrument, conducted with 03 teachers and 02
mothers of children with autism. From the data analysis, we found that the work done
between the family and the school is contributing to the development of the child with
autism.
