Abstract

This work presents a cost evaluation method for hydroelectric power plants with suitable technology for small isolated communities. The research was done for a standard typical project with installed capacities varying from 5 to 15 kW and heads from 5 to 60 meters. These results can be used for preliminary feasibility studies of a given site. Costs are presented with the use of “cost x head x capacity” curves.
