Resumen:
A computer routine was developed to simulate a counterflow concentric
tube heat exchanger to operate as the condenser in an air/water heat pump. A tube by
tube approach was adopted in the modeling to obtain detailed information on the
behavior of the fluids (refrigerant and water) along the condenser. It was then
incorporated to an air/air heat pump simulation program, which demonstrated to be able
to predict all the operating conditions for each tube of the condenser and to verify the
effect of changing the heat exchanger parameters on the performance of the
thermodynamic cycle of the system.
