Abstract

In the last years, with the development of the Country, there occurred a great increase in the demand of electrical energy in Brazil, and in order to avoid shortage and even its lack, it becomes clear the needs for increasing its availability for domestic and principally industrial use. This increase is possible from two main sources: (1) construction of new hydroelectric power plants and (2) rationalization of the use of electrical energy through a better charges management, that may avoid or at least diminish the losses.
